    Role description
    Role title: Webmaster
    Reports to: Tech dept. head
    Responsible for: Operating our web-services.
    Purpose of post: To keep on top of security, performance optimisation, managing plugins, helping with software upgrades.
    Contacts (who will they deal with): Sysadmins, operations people.
    Major duties: Managing forums, nginx, some web-service utilities, helping to operate some in-house web-services.

    Person specification:
    Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Qualities needed to perform the task:
    • Able to contribute 1+ hours per day.
    • Limited programming abilities (bash, python, PHP, SQL, HTML/CSS).
    • Ability to understand software systems at a high level.
    • Interested in learning how web hosting works.
    Competency framework:
    Work-related behaviour which is necessary:
    • Organised.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a team.
    • Willing to ask for help with difficult problems.
