If ownership can be sorted, all risks are significantly reduced.

Also, if the limits of these priviledges are clearly delimited to leaders and enforced without mercy, I want to believe it can be done.

Supervise him while he does it, but, come on, he is willing to put the work. GKK: Give the kid the keys.

I already mentioned this case and why I also think it is a hassle. It isn't practical to do channel groups. In below quote I said 'Channel admin permissions' but that's synonym. Well, I meant it synonym. Channel admin is just another channel group. Maintaining channel groups is cancer.

Like said above. No, it cannot be done easily and it is even more of a pain to maintain channel groups.

Wicca I still need an answer to the question in my last posting.

If you are going to go in and fix all the usergroups, make sure you do not edit manager or root, that way you can avoid having to completely reinstall teamspeak. But I assume you know how to connect via the backend anyways..

Teamspeak Permissions need some proper documentation, I think you should write down a operations procedure on how to go about this, with a default "unit" group and member group.

I would suggest the following usergroup permissions:

PRTA Friend: Has talk and move power in teamspeak.
PRTA Member: Has the above and also ability to assign users PRTA Friend.
PRTA Leader: Has the above and ability to ban users for 2 hours, along with kick permissions.
PRTA Manager: Has the above and ability to ban users permanently. And add users to leader and Member usergroups.

Query password can be reset so there will never be a need for a reinstall.

Moderator team needs rebuilding. And that includes teamspeak perms Chav we can talk about when I see you.

Admin team I forgot, and needs move power on Member and less, aswell as permission to ban users from teamspeak for 2 hours. But not give usergroups.

I think if you want to do it correctly, setting up template groups is the best way to future proof teamspeak for units, admin groups, and perm unification across groups.

Lets say you have established, stable admin/moderator teams's you can trust.
    - Root & Management (obvious how that should be)
    - Moderation
    - Ability to moderate channels
    - Ability to kick/ban leaders/members
    - Ability to move/mute leaders/members
    - Ability to assign leader/member groups
    - Admins
    - Ability to assign Friend
    - Ability to assign talk power, etc
    - Ability to move leaders/members
    - Ability to kick/temp ban members/leaders
    - Leader
    - Ability to Edit channels
    - Ability to Assign friend groups
    - Ability to move leaders/members outside of the admins/mods/etc
    - Ability to kick friends
    - Member
    - Ability to Assign Friend

Yes. We had templated groups in the past actually. But it doesn't help to keep pointing into the past while in fact it's all bollocks now permissionwise. Even though, in the end it's mainly newer unit groups which have some small diffs to other groups. But that's enough to shake it all up.

My IT-Engineer exam is happening next week. So this task has to wait till the end of the month gentleman. I promise to do some 'refactoring' of it all then.

Till then..hold fast you landsmen.

Yea, I know you can do a lot.
There is more to it then you think right now. Things have changed since you left.
Community dept. needs more attention atm. Better concentrate on the department for now.
TS can wait 10 more days.
