    From the wiki:
A sniper is a highly trained marksman who operates alone, in a pair, or with a sniper team to maintain close visual contact with the enemy and engage targets from concealed positions or distances exceeding the detection capabilities of enemy personnel. These sniper teams operate independently, with little combat asset support from their parent units. Snipers typically have highly selective and specialized training and use High precision/application rifles and optics, and often have sophisticated communication assets to feed valuable combat information back to their units.

Thats real life now in PR you join a squad, walk up to a box request it and leave that squad, then make a your own usually named RECON or SNIPER. Then you sit somewhere and piss people off the rest of the game. Which, no one likes so don't expect anyone to be your friend.

So, getting to the actually stuff now. There are many different types of snipers in the game, they vary from moisin, m40, m24, and sv98 and a few more. Each have different stats, but are used the same way.

    Positioning:
First, make sure you are at a position where you can be prone or crouched and still see your enemies. Whenever you move, be smart take alleyways or ditches to avoid any contact.
A inaccurate sniper, is a dead sniper.

    Situation Awareness:
Always be aware of your surroundings, If something seems wrong get out of there.
Each team only has 2 kits, don't waste it.

    Target Identification:
I like to aim for the squad medics. Then, after that whoever I see. Only shoot if the chance to hit is at least 90%. Otherwise wait for another one.
There are 49 other people to shoot.

    Fire support:
A skilled shooter can bog down a squad long enough for mortars to hit them.
Saves ammo and is a nice sight to see.

    Pro Tips:

    1. Wait for the target to be still, increases that chance to hit.

    2. Know your weapon, most snipers are 1 shot kills but others are not. Once you determine that you will know where to aim that sniper. Usually at the chest.

    3. When you are zoomed in, if you hold 3 it will hold your breath and increase accuracy. I go 1 2 fire. Mainly because you cant hear your breath or breathe.

    4. If you can avoid direct contact. You only get 2 kits and they take about 10 minutes to spawn.

    5. If you do make a recon or sniper squad, make sure you do that and not have a free kit squad otherwise you take away from the infantry. I usually lock it at 4.

I think I got everything, if I missed something put it as a comment and I will add it!

    Fucking hell.

    Squad leaders first.

    Then the medics.

The if you can identify experienced players from rookies, hit them next.

Then the ones who take cover first. (Or whoever is looking at you)

Anyone who begins accurately shooting at you, cannot only shoot you, but can also describe your location to the other members of his squad.

Centre of body mass only, no head shots. (If he's wounded by a sniper rifles round he's still fucked, unless he can get to a medic, which you've shot 8 seconds ago.)

If he's lying down facing you, aim for his nose. If he's lying down facing away from you, aim for his rectum (Portuguese heart shot)

    8 second roughly between shots

If you have the time, and you're close rather than far, move and change positions after a few shots.

Try to cause confusion. If the squad leader is dead, then any noobs in the squad will hurrderr for a few seconds and maybe not even register there is a sniper. Anyone who looks like they're on the ball and throws a smoke onto the tow to find you should be your next target.

Shooting guys on tows or .50s or mortars are great because they can't be revived.

Don't worry about cover, fire from concealment.

Try to be between 200 to 350 m away. This allows you to roughly be out of range of standard 5.56 and nicely in range for you rifle.

If at any point the enemy falls from view, it is time to leave.

If at any point you become the hunted prey, fucking fallback and set ambush for them, then repeat and repeat until the engagement is over.

You don't need to engage the first guys you come across, your objectives are flags, caches and reporting tows/ AA along the way.

Your role is Denial of area.

The sniper kit is a one shot one kill kit. If you are spending multiple shots per target, stop wasting the kit, and go and practice on coop. (Even weaker sniper kits like the moisin are one shot one kill kits as in order to employ it properly, you must get close, and for this particular rifle, go for head shots.)

Don't shoot from the top floor it's obvious. Shoot from inside the building not with your rifle pointing outside of the window for everyone to see.

Position wise, don't go for the obvious sniper nests.

Only the l115a3 and the c14 under 900 metres are a guaranteed 1 shot kill. The rest do between 80 and 95 damage (against full body armour in the chest).

If you are going to play as sniper please first determine your goals. Eliminating is the only small part of the sniper. Don't try to kill everything that moves. Sometimes the only thing that you should do is gaining times for friendly infantries by doing some tricks. But never ever play for ending screen

    Tips:

    • NVA Alt sniper is SVD (imo better than mosin nagant with scope + SVD has better scope)
    • Syrian rebels faction ALT sniper is the MEC sniper
    • Militia has Russian faction sniper pick up in Black Gold Insurgency (and Russian MG kit pick up too)
    • Militia, NVA, ARF sniper rifles are bad against any target with bodyarmor since you need two hits. Aim for the legs. They also have bad scope. Better find a marksman kit.

Nagant has 3.5x PU scope, while SVD has 4x PSO-1 scope, but tbh. in PR to me it looks like PU has 2x and PSO-1 6x... :tounge:

Even the MEC G3 rifle is better for sniping business than Nagant sniper rifle

Mosin Nagant is very good sniper rifle. Actually rifle itself is very good. Have capability of one shot man  The only bad side is it's scope. Also svd has a deployed mod problem. It does not hit accurately sometimes.

Yes, it is very true... I was playing arctic last night and had one deployed, missed 2 out of 3 shots on a still target from about 50m out.

Doesn't matter. Math improving your logical skills which is far more useful for sniper rather than knowing of wind.

There is no math in pr? If there is bullet travel time, there is math too. Every sniper with different scope magnification has different reticle adjustment by hold ons. If you want to do this you have to calculate the optics, bullet travel time, range, target's speed. But who needs that thing? Just fire lol.

The Dragonov, when deployed(post 1.0 update), shoots high. About a foot per 100m I'd say as a rule of thumb.

The Mosin Nagant is capable of a "one shot, one kill" on an armoured target. Aim at the throat. The body armour hit box is slightly high over the base of the throat, so the nape if the neck is a safe bet.

If you miss well, you hit the body and they're wounded, or you hit the head.
