    Role description
    Role title: Operations
    Reports to: Tech dept. head
    Responsible for: Operating & helping users of a variety of services.
    Purpose of post: To help people use PRTA's services effectively.
    Contacts (who will they deal with): Sysadmins, operations people, blue-tag people, (senior) admins, unit leaders.
    Major duties: Managing forums, VoIP services, git/gitolite, game servers.

    Person specification:
    Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Qualities needed to perform the task:
    • Able to contribute 2+ hours per day.
    • Ability to manage applications (VoIP, forums, CMS, game servers).
    • Ability to understand software systems at an intermediate level.
    • Basic understanding of access controls.
    • Ability to consistently follow a plan.
    Competency framework:
    Work-related behaviour which is necessary:
    • Organised.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Can get along with a wide range of people.
    • Willing to ask for help with difficult problems.
