Looking to update my PC case maybe this one

The curved corners on the cabinet you selected means its significantly larger for comparable internal space to other cabinets. dunno if thats a problem, looks good though. recommend you check if it has paired fan mounts so you can mount double slot coolers if you want to in the future.

For Ram, cant go wrong with a set of 2x 16gb corsair ones, ASUS mobo (whatever works really, I say ASUS cuz quality) but do recommend you go for one of the new AMD processors contra an I7. Between having a single socket for all their top processors (meaning you dont need to swap mobo next time you want a new one) and 8-core clock rates at 4 - 4.3GHz vs top range I7's at 3.5-4.0 quads, do recommend AMD FX-8350 Bl or AMD FX-8370 Bl. If you can afford it, you could also jump to a FX9590 Bl. at 4.7 Ghz (5 at boost) 8-core, which is comparable in price with a midrange intel i7. Does pull 220W though, so you need a proper cooler and a motherboard/PSU that supports that sort of power drain.

You absolutely have to have liquid cooling with the top range AMD 8 and 9 series though, anything less simply wont do.

Want to stick with Intel. AMD is better for video and image rendering where as Intel is better for gaming. Think I will go Ausus but not sure what mobo. Want it to last 3-5 years. (as a high spec PC)

    Mother Board:
So the socket is a pretty old one, depending if you want to go for the CPU new architecture or not. I recommend you stay WELL away from AMD.
If you want to go high end on the MoBo a X97 will suffice for a long time. (old architecture)
But if you want to go with the new architecture you will probably have to go for the Z170

    CPU:
With the new architecture you will probably want the i7-6700k, that is probably the best one of the new architecture.
If not then go for the i7 4790k. That is by far probably the best CPU out there for it's price.
The amount of improvement on the new architecture is minimal and I personally am going to get a Z97 of some sort and an i7 4790k.
But then you have to realize that the chipset for the 4790k will never get a new CPU so you have to consider future proofing the MOBO a little more.

    http://www.ebuyer.com/718338-intel-...3-cache-retail-boxed-processor-bx80662i76700k
    http://www.ebuyer.com/645546-intel-...1150-8mb-l3-cache-retail-boxed-bx80646i74790k

    RAM:
Depending on what you have got on the ram at the moment I'd probably stay, but the best ram you could get for DDR3 is Corsair's Ram
    http://www.ebuyer.com/339598-corsair-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-vengeance-memory-cmz8gx3m1a1600c10

1600Mhz is a decent speed but you can always step it up a bit more if you want a little bit extra umph, personally if your ram is ~1600Mhz I'd hold of on buying RAM, 16GB is more than enough.

    Cooler:
Straight up best cooler on the market is the Noctua NH-D15, I bought this a couple of months ago and I have an 8350 (AMD shit kid I know). I am pulling better temps with this thing clocked at 4.5GHz than a friend with an i7 4790k with a H100i. If you know anything about AMD you know that they have fucking ridiculous temps and I'm tempted to clock my CPU to 5GHz and see how it runs.

    And it's cheap as chips.

    Case:
Corsair is fucking marvelous, dont know if I've mentioned yet but I am a massive Corsair fanboy and any corsair case is just great. I think the case you picked is gonna be massive and it wont be able to sit on a small desk. I got the 550d and this this is almost as big as my desk.

    PSU:
Honestly, 750w would cut it, but it's not modular which means building the PC will be a pain and your current PSU doesn't have a lot of PCI-E / other power types, if you want to get another PSU I'd go for the EVGA 1000w series or corsairs equivalent, because they are beastly.

    GPU:
Depending on the 970 that you have got, you should keep with that for now until you are ready to buy an after market water cooled 980ti. The 970 STRIX is a beast and it auto over clocks it self, and I'm not gonna be looking for a new GPU for a couple more years.

    Hopefully that helps a bit.

Ordered myself the Corsair 780T to start with... my current case is falling apart and the main fan rattles.

So will probs get a Asus mobo. Still undecided.

Chav ill get DDR4 RAM at least - newer.

Just need a mobo, processor and RAM. Might get a new water cooler as my current one doesn't actually fit my socket type. (i made it fit  )

Decide if you wanna waste money on the new gen or not, if you do then there's literally one MoBo you can get, but trust me NH-D15 is better than all all in one water coolers.
DDR4 isn't worth the money at the moment IMO

I have it as well. Shite card as nvidia lied about the vram!!!

Had lots of issues with it. Most games I have had to wait for a patch for it to work. Getting better though

Weed - if they ship to the uk that's at least £60-£100 for postage plus import tax. 20%. Not worth it. We have pcspecialist.co.uk

But I'm after the odd part so no use to me.

Damn Weed, the man's request was pretty specific and here you come along de-railing his thread!

SAS, I have no advice to offer but my current rig is similar to yours; 3570k, GTX 970 etc. I wasn't aware that more than 16GB was being utilised now by anything, though I've seen it advertised in a few pre-builds in PC Gamer. Still only on 8GB DDR3 myself.

Still recommend The Digitl Storm Vanquish 4 level IIII ! That thing is a beast , you know that when I have the money I am gonna buy it hell yea man ! If you really want a good EXP then you gotta spend what's in pockets ! That is my idea , I think more fun and higher quality , by the time your GC well get older , plus so complicated stuff buying parts and building ..... Bla bla bla ! Just buy a pre build one from DS and that's it you are so much having fun ! But collecting good PC specs is better than this computer
