Hey PRTA and other PR players,
On the European side the EU Mappack test is about to end after 2 weekends of testing of 9 brand new community made maps, however these maps were (as the title said) for testing and eventually for a better experience.

As intended right now we want to run another 2/3 weekends of this mappack but we will have a break of 2/3 weekends between the next Mappack tests. This so the mapmakers can implement hotfixes (like balance/bleeds on flags etc) but also asset changes or big bugs or whatever is needed to make the gameplay more of a pleasure.

But that is not going to happen without your feedback! I made the list of maps that we played and it doesn't matter if you only played one every feedback is required. I and the management will make sure the mappers take a look at all that feedback so they can work on it for even a better weekend of testing.

The Karez Offensive 4km Canada VS MEC
Borovsko Bridge 2km Russia VS Militia
    Temelin 1km US(60s) VS Militia
Adak 4km US Army VS China
Assault on Grozny 2km Russia VS Militia
Op. Dragon Orchard 4km Russia VS US Marines
Steel Viper 4km PLA VS MEC
    Bamyan 4km US(60s) VS Taliban
Operation Sapphire 4km US(60s) vs ARF

As a reference you can use this small template with some questions that might come to your mind:

What did you enjoy about the map?
    What should definitly be changed?
    Any asset changes?
Are the factions suitable for this map?
    Any other remarks?

PRTA wants to thank the whole PR community for participating in this succesfull event, we are looking forward to the feedback and I'm quite sure the mappers even more! A big shoutout to these people since we would never be able to organize this without the mappers but also not without the great technical staff of PRTA.

tbh I can't do much if we don't play the maps. For example this weekend we saw that the ticketbleed was still a problem so I removed it in about 30 minutes, now I just need to see how it plays. Does anyone actually need more than a week to fix something ? If so I would be glad to skip a week or two but I just don't see any reason to if there isn't any need for it.

We'll talk about that in the designated forums, for now please let this stay on the feedback so you can collect the data and feedback .

For bigger changes, yes. There is also pre-event testing to make sure that people can load into the map and advertisement & distribution to make sure there are people to play it. It takes a remarkably large amount of effort to run events, they normally have 3+ week lead times.

What did you enjoy about the map? The map felt large, even if it's only 1 km. Plenty of details, making the map very interesting for infantry. Good stuff!
    What should definitly be changed?
Any asset changes? No clue, never used one.
Are the factions suitable for this map? Well, the US is only temporary. Two no-scopes on this map is pretty sweet.
Any other remarks? Nah, I was really pleased with all aspects encountered on the map.

I think the China cas should be a Z-10. I don't see china winning without a big advantage like this.

I have to dissagree with you, a more fitting change would either to put a 30mm apc for CH. And ofc that map needs to fix the flaglayout.

Most bugs and changed can be made serverside no need for a new download or even to wait with them.
    easy serverside changes:
    - assets
    - flags (also bleeds)
    - statics
    - spawnpoints
    - ...

I would swap out the tanks for respawnable APC's.

Tanks can't really work with and support infantry the same way a good APC crew can and I say respawnable because the US side lost it's tank at the start yesterday, so the milita tank just steamrolled.

That's irrelevant, one of the things we need to do is properly set up an event pipeline to deal with the long-lead items. It was sheer luck that it worked without any particularly big problems at the weekend, and that's not sustainable.

I only had the chance to play Grozny.

What did you enjoy about the map? It had a variety of environments, urban, rural and industrial.
What should definitely be changed? Perhaps the misty texture, but not necessarily.
    Any asset changes? No.
Are the factions suitable for this map? Yes
Any other remarks? A very good map for teamwork in my opinion.

    Temelin 1km US(60s) VS Militia
What did you enjoy about the map?
    - Good quality, great industrial complexes with nice tunnels and ways to loose yourself in
    - 1km maps are too rare in PR right now, nice to have another one

    What should definitely be changed?
    - Flag capping. All flags in play constantly makes the gameplay weird. 2 or 3 flags in play at a time maximum imo.

Are the factions suitable for this map?
    - definitely. Scopes ruin everything.

Assault on Grozny 2km Russia VS Militia

What did you enjoy about the map?
    - 10/10 atmosphere and immersion, even turns Utd Milsim
    - I had much better fps than last time, but I guess that's because the server only had 20 players :frown:(

    What should definitely be changed?
    - Bleed.
    - .. and more FPS
    - There are some holes in walls that lead onto a sidewalk (that you have to jump onto) which makes it really hard to get through those holes. I hope you know what I mean, I forgot to make screenshots. You have to crouch+jump couple of times to get through successfully

Are the factions suitable for this map?
    - Of course.

Op. Dragon Orchard 4km Russia VS US Marines
What did you enjoy about the map?
    - Nice concept that worked surprisingly well
    - Ships as flags were funny and actually worked
    - Long view distances

    What should definitely be changed?
    - Assets rape too hard. There is lack of cover on the islands that would justify heavy armor usage. You should limit it to maybe a LAV and 2x BTR80s.
    - Harbor Flag harbor has no entry point from land, which is weird because it's a harbor. You have to climb on rooftops or around HESCOs to get in.
    - Way too many tickets. Even worse than Saaremaa LRG, because you don't really have an INF-Meatgrinder.

    Any asset changes?
    - Less assets. As I said, limit it to BRDM/BTR vs. few LAVs. No BMP/AAVPs.

Are the factions suitable for this map?
    - Yes

Assault on Grozny 2km Russia VS Militia

What did you enjoy about the map?

-I loved the city, the buildings are huge, most of them are enterable.
-It's a very hard map for both teams, no mistakes allowed.
-Mostly CQB/Urban on the layout I played.

    What should definitely be changed?

    -The bleed
-Low FPS but this is what we get for having a big city.

Adak 4km US Army VS China

What did you enjoy about the map?

    -The look, feel and size

    What should definitely be changed?

    -China should have more tickets
-Lower the number of flags so we get to fight in the harbour.

    Any asset changes?
-China should get a proper APC with a cannon and thermals if they don't get more tickets.

Are the factions suitable for this map?
-I would like to see a layout with US/UK/Germany(defending) vs RU(attacking)

    Any other remarks?
    -Nope

Some feedback on the previous event:

I think the admins should be more involved in the process. Most things went pretty good so far but I think the admins should read up on the maps more and atleast know what layers the maps have. Making a list of the layers with a pen and paper before the event is a good start.

On the last event we played the custom maps skirmish layers when we seeded, that was really good and I would like to see that happen in the future aswell since the skirmish layers also needs testing.

Last but not least I think we should mix all layers on the weekends, basically play skirmish, AAS and Insurgency and CnC on every weekend. Imo that will make a better mix which will make people play it more. It can get boring to only play AAS std the entire weekend.

All in all I think most things worked great so far, thanks to all admins and managers who were involved in some way.
