Am currently looking to upgrade my rig from the godforsaken AMD a10 to something a lot more fruitier. I already have a motherboard set https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-B45...92265328&s=electronics&sr=1-2#customerReviews, in addition to the RAM https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-3200M...lja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1. Am willing to spend between $100 to $150 on the CPU, I just genuinly dont know what which one I should buy. Hopefully some of you here use them and are willing to provide me with some insight.

Budget-wise you're kinda restricted to Ryzen 5 (based on Amazon prices). I got my Ryzen 5 1600 last year and its been running fairly well letting me use Adobe Premiere while Arma, R6, and Witcher have been running in the background before. If you wanna max out on your budget might as well just go for the 2600. Or save up a little more and bump into Ryzen 7 for more future proofing.

You could have a look at these benchmarks to get a general idea of how the CPUs perform. For some additional information, take a look at AnandTech.

Alright thanks guys. For the whole package I dont plan on spending more than $300, and I think I can fit the 2600 in there. At least with AM4 I have the option to upgrade down the line unlike the fm2 platform I am currently on rn.

For PR, you should buy ryzen 3000 (3300X ?!)

3300x will give you 20% more fps than ryzen 2600 (i have tested it).

Also i have this "benchmark" comparing intel with amd.
