    Role description
    Role title: Sysadmin/Containerisation expert
    Reports to: Lead Sysadmin (Sloan)
    Responsible for: Advising on, creating and maintaining various containerisation-based upgrades.
    Purpose of post: To improve our infrastructure and help filling in vacancies.
    Contacts(who will they deal with): Sysadmins, programmers and (occasionally) semi-technical internal users.
    Major duties: Supporting all container-based activities and teaching technical personnel how to use containers effectively.

    Person specification:
    Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Qualities needed to perform the task:
    • Good understanding of containerisation & associated networking.
    • Good understanding of Linux systems.
    • Basic git knowledge preferred.
    • Able to help with other sysadmin tasks.
    Competency Framework:
    Work-related behaviour which is necessary:
    • Regularly makes incremental changes.
    • Willing to teach other technical people.
