    The Battle of Ia Drang

    Friday 4th of May 2012
    Briefing at 19:00 PRT (UTC)
Formations of Huey helicopters flying through the air. Grass wet from the morning dew.
Masses of vietnamese soldiers flooding out of the woodwork. It's all you've ever dreamed of.
This event features pre-planned battleplans and scenario rules to create immersive battle events mimicking the historic battle of Ia Drang River Valley and landing zone X-Ray.
    ...........[IMG]
..........PR Mumble 1.0 is required for this event
    Event rules

    • The US team spawns only at their Main Base and Rally Points, all major reinforcements are flown in by helicopter. The US team is however allowed to use FOs for defensive purposes. The FOB is to be destroyed after defenses have been built.
    • The NVA team spawns freely at Forward Outposts or Rally Points or their Main Base.
    • Anyone who shoots or mistreats a Prisoner of War is liable to be court-martialed as per the Geneva Convention. NVA commanders might be more lenient.
    • All communication below Squad Leader level are local Mumble only - no radio for grunts. Pass the information up the line!
    • Follow the Chain of Command or face severe consequences!
    • Accidental friendly fire is tolerated, disciplinary executions are allowed!
    • Ceasefire during 'night time', reinforce your defenses and resupply. NVA commanders are likely to bend this rule a little.

    and not this thread...
Your squad leaders will brief you on your mission during the seeding round before the battle. Join the team & squad you have been assigned to!

I think the 'no fobs' rule may end real bad...
the VN helis are sorta bugged and sometimes when you land on not-perfectly even ground, taking off again results in flipping...

some real seasoned pilots better be flying on event day is all I'm saying

You shouldn't land, you need to hover 1 meter above the ground.

I don't know, I find the PR:V helicopters quite easy to fly. In fact I like the modified huey much more than the standard PR one. Much more.

After this event guys we want more feedback as oskar and myself have taken the advice on board from operation deleverance for this and if it works well and we get the formula right these may be more regular. Already have another in the pipeline, only if this works well.
